Hi Journalers! I thought I would summarise for you what is going on with the temporary closures of the Jellycat Patisserie and Diner. It could well be useful in case you have some fabulous trips booked!
Two of Jellycat’s most beloved experiences are taking a little break; and if the teasers are anything to go by - they're coming back bigger and sweeter than ever. Here's everything we know so far:
The Paris Pâtisserie is resting its whisks
The Jellycat Patisserie at Galeries Lafayette, tucked inside the FAO Schwarz space, officially closed its doors on 17 July ‘26 for a temporary refurbishment. According to Jellycat, there's something even tastier rising behind the scenes: a bigger, improved Patisserie is being prepared, along with a whole new batch of pastry pals to meet when it reopens. In other words, expect both a refreshed space and some brand-new characters.
Craving a fix in the meantime? Your favourite Patisserie treats haven't gone far. Since 18 July ‘26 they've been available one floor down, on the 3rd floor in Women's Fashion, keeping the sweetness going until the full experience returns.
As for a reopening date — Jellycat is keeping that under wraps for now, promising only that the doors will open again "soon." No firm date has been confirmed, so keep your eyes peeled on Jellycat's website and social channels.
The NYC Diner is closing the kitchen too
Over in New York, the Jellycat Diner at FAO Schwarz (Rockefeller Plaza) is next in line for a refresh. The Diner is taking its final reservations on the current menu through 9 August ‘26, then closing from 10 August ‘26 for renovations.
The good news? It looks like a short break. The Diner is expected to reopen in early September "while we cook up something new" — hinting at a new menu, and very likely some fresh exclusive jellies to go with it.
What might be coming? Jellycat has form here. Last summer - (I believe it was June ‘25) we got to meet the FABULOUS Bubbeca Milkshake, Crember Cheesecake and Oatus Bear. Not long after that Nibblechip Cookie appeared. These friends caused an absolute stir! Prior to that I believe it was Pizza, Hot Dog and the gang - that is when I visited. Since then the Diner has become a buzzing hot spot that many are adding to their New York bucket list! I do believe there will be a new menu.
